Practical Training Session On The Proper Cleaning For Junior Staff (SOA)

 BRIEF WRITE UP ON JUNIOR STAFF TRAINING HELD ON 1ST MARCH, 2022 AT THE

                                SCHOOL OF AGICULTURE CONFERENCE ROOM

 

     As part of efforts to create awareness of the risks involved and the need for proper safety precautions in avoiding work-related injuries and/or infections, the School of Agriculture, in partnership with Dane Solutions, organized a practical training session on the proper cleaning of general areas, offices and washrooms for Junior Staff (Messenger/Cleaners and Gardeners). The training was held on March 1st, 2022 at the conference room of the School of Agriculture.

Mrs. Diana Essuman Tanihu, the Lead Facilitator of Dane Solutions, and Facilitator for the day, took Participants through the various cleaning materials and techniques used for effective cleaning, precautionary measures in preventing injuries/infections, handling and storage of cleaning materials during cleaning exercise, amongst others. She emphasized the need to use the right tool/equipment for its appropriate job description. As part of the training, Participants were made to understand and appreciate their responsibilities as Cleaners in a professional manner.

 

She further advised that as Cleaners, they should be able to demonstrate excellent communication

and organizational skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, a sense of

responsibility and the ability to work cohesively as part of a team.

The School of Agriculture plans to organize regular training for its cleaning staff and extend same to the other categories of staff as part of its staff development activities.
