School of Agriculture Holds Orientation for 2021-2022 Freshmen

The School of Agriculture on Friday, January 21, 2022 held its Freshmen orientation at the Lecture Theatre 3 (LT3) block. The orientation is a mandatory event held at the beginning of each academic year to welcome level 100 (freshmen) students who have enrolled for the Bachelor of Science Agriculture and Bachelor of Science Family and Consumer Sciences (Food & Clothing and Family & Child Studies) Programmes.

 

 

During the orientation, students were provided with variety of information relating to academic policies and campus life. Speaking at the event the Dean, Professor Irene Susana Egyir, emphasized the need for the students to take up their courses seriously in order to obtain impressive CGPA. She further spoke on making use of the School’s Library, timely course registration, examination malpractices, cleanliness and the appropriate channels for seeking clarifications when in need. The Heads of the six Departments and the three Centres of the School took turns to introduce their Departments/Centres and the available career prospects that awaits them. Also present were the Executives of the two student associations; International Association of students in Agricultural and related Sciences (IAAS) and the Family and Consumer Sciences Student Association (FACSSA) who took the opportunity to welcome the students to campus with words of encouragement.
