You are most welcome to the School of Agriculture.
The School of Agriculture, is one of the four schools in the College of Basic and Applied Sciences. It is the only School that boasts of multi-disciplinarity, converging the sciences and the arts. Three of the School’s six academic departments are Animal Science, Crop Science and Soil Science, exposing students to the science of agriculture. The other three Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension and Family & Consumer Sciences expose students to social sciences and other human-centred discourse. There are three research centres, namely the Forest and Horticulture Research Centre (FOHCREC) in Kade (Eastern region), the Soil and Irrigation Research Centre (SIREC) in Kpong (Eastern region) and the Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC) in Nungua (Greater Accra region). The multi-disciplinary stance encourages collaborative approaches to research and teaching, thereby aiding the achievement of set objectives national agricultural development through quality teaching, research and extension, and integrating system-wide innovations to realize tangible and practical results.
The School’s undergraduate and graduate programmes as well as diploma and short courses provide technical, professional and scholastic skills and competencies to students who enroll in them.
